چکیده
The Groundwater Spatiotemporal Data Analysis Tool (GWSDAT) is a user-friendly, open source software tool used to analyze and report trends in groundwater quality monitoring data. GWSDAT is based on the open source statistical programming language R and Microsoft Excel. GWSDAT’s primary use is for interrogation and interpretation of groundwater monitoring data derived from contaminated sites. It has specific functionality for analyzing dissolved-phase concentration and light nonaqueous phase liquid (LNAPL) thickness trends and spatiotemporal smoothing to delineate dynamic contamination plumes. The software can handle large data sets with multiple monitoring locations, variable sampling events, and differing chemical constituents. GWSDAT has been used extensively in the assessment of soil and groundwater conditions at numerous assets around the world, including retail and manufacturing sites. The following are key benefits and value-added features of GWSDAT:

Groundwater contamination analysis using Fuzzy Water Quality index (FWQI): Yazd province, Iran
Fuzzy Water Quality Index (FWQI) was applied in order to assess the degree of drinking water resources in Yazd province, Iran. Thisstudy has also offered the creation of a new fuzzy water quality index (FWQI) to evaluate this tool’s applicability. 12 chemicalparameters including toxic and non-toxic heavy metals measured in 71 groundwater samples collected from drinking water resourcesin rural a...
متن کاملDesign Optimization of Groundwater Quality Management Challenges Using the Outer Approximation Method
Impacts to groundwater from anthropogenic sources have resulted in numerous occurrences of subsurface contamination plumes. The management of these plumes has resulted in the expenditure of billions of dollars worldwide. The protection of human health and the environment is the primary emphasis driving plume management. Various methods have been proposed to optimize the response action to the p...
متن کاملDistributional Patterns of Arsenic Concentrations in Contaminant Plumes Offer Clues to the Source of Arsenic in Groundwater at Landfills
The distributional pattern of dissolved arsenic concentrations from landfill plumes can provide clues to the source of arsenic contamination. Under simple idealized conditions, arsenic concentrations along flow paths in aquifers proximal to a landfill will decrease under anthropogenic sources but potentially increase under in situ sources. This paper presents several conceptual distributional p...
متن کاملInvestigation of Ground Waters Quality Using Multivariate Statistical Techniques (Case Study: Maragheh-Bonab Plain, East Azerbaijan Province)
Investigation and analysis of groundwater quality to monitor contamination and identify the most important pollutants and pollution points is one of the research fields. The objective of this research was to plan to improve groundwater quality on various spatial and temporal scales. Groundwater information of Maragheh-Bonab plain was collected from 26 wells in 10 years (2001-2011) with 454 samp...
متن کاملA Geostatistical Data Assimilation Approach for Estimating Groundwater Plume Distributions from Multiple Monitoring Events
Knowledge of the distribution of groundwater contaminant plumes is needed to avoid pumping contaminated water, assess past exposure to contamination, and design remediation schemes to contain or treat the contaminated area. In most field cases, however, contamination is discovered by a small number of fortuitously located wells, and the full distribution of the plume is never known. This paper ...
